Scholarship

Program

This program is intended for undergraduate students of Iranian descent that are enrolled full- time at a nationally accredited Florida college or university. A qualified student can be awarded up to two thousand dollars ($1,000) per academic school year. Each recipient of the scholarship reward will receive one initial payment of five hundred dollars ($500) for the academic semester. Upon his or her enrollment in the next academic semester, the recipient will then need to present proof of enrollment to IACC Board of Directors in order to receive the remaining five hundred dollars ($500) reward.


Student Eligibility

Each applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for the program:

  • Be a full-time undergraduate student* of Iranian descent that is already enrolled full-time at a nationally accredited Florida college or university. Iranian descent is defined as having one or both parents of Iranian heritage.
  • Maintain a minimum of 3.3 out of 4.0 weighted grade point average.
  • IACC requires proof of full-time enrollment.

* (1) Graduate students, and (2) Dual enrolled high school students are NOT eligible to apply.


Awards

Up to $1,000 per year will be awarded per qualified applicant.

Students who are awarded the scholarship must maintain all set requirements to qualify for the continuation of the year.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements, not exceeding a maximum of two years.


Payment of Scholarship

Scholarship payments are made payable to the student and will be mailed to each recipient's home address in August for the fall semester or January for the spring semester.


Student Obligations

Recipients are required to supply IACC with complete transcripts when requested and notify IACC of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information.

Recipients must complete minimum of 10 hours of community service per semester as determined by IACC once the scholarship is awarded.


Reservations

IACC reserves the right to evaluate and determine qualifications of the applicants and their eligibility status based on the documents provided by the applicants and the opinion of IACC Board of Directors.

IACC reserves the right to review conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.


Procedure

Interested students must complete the application and mail it along with a complete transcript of grades, required references, and enrollment documents to IACC postmarked no later than June 20th of the upcoming academic year.

Applications are received and reviewed only once a year.

Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information listed on the application.

Applicants are evaluated by the IACC's designated scholarship committee based on the information supplied.

Priority will be given to those applicants from the Central Florida area; including the Counties of Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Volusia, Brevard and Lake.

Program Participation

The IACC's Student Scholarship Program is possible by fund-raisings and participants' generous donations. Donations are deposited in the account of IACC, reserved for its scholarship program. Contact us to participate in the scholarship fund-raisings.
